Join for Open Studios/Open Fields, an exciting event hosted by the MFA program at Pratt Fine Arts on Saturday, November 8, 2025, from 12 PM to 8 PM at Dock 72 in the Brooklyn Navy Yard. This event blends artistic creation with vital support networks, inviting the public to explore MFA studios, interact with artists, and connect with organizations that empower creative endeavors.
Open Studios provides a unique opportunity for attendees to witness artworks in progress, meet MFA students in their studios, and enjoy a pop-up exhibition across various gallery spaces.
Meanwhile, Open Fields: An Artist Resource Fair will gather nonprofit organizations from New York City and beyond, including residencies, grant-making bodies, maker spaces, advocacy groups, and alternative exhibition venues. Representatives will be on hand to share resources, address questions, and provide practical advice, alongside panel discussions focused on sustaining artistic careers and overall well-being.
Together, these elements create an engaging ecosystem that links artistic vision to the networks, funding, and organizational support necessary to realize it. Artists will gain visibility and form valuable connections, while organizations will engage with creatives in their workspace, gaining deeper insights into their practices and needs. Visitors will experience the vitality of contemporary art-making alongside the support systems that underpin it.
Participating Organizations Include:
Artadia • Center for Urban Pedagogy • Dieu Donné • Elizabeth Foundation for the Arts • The Fortune Society • Foundation for Contemporary Arts • The Laundromat Project • NARS Foundation • Project for Empty Space • Recess • Residency Unlimited • Robert Blackburn Printmaking Workshop • Silver Art Projects • Socrates Sculpture Park • Wassaic Project
