"Gallery Night" as Part of Berlin Art Week Single Night, 54 Galleries
As one of the world's most established and influential art events, the São Paulo Biennial opens an exciting chapter in the art world by visiting Germany for the first time in its history! The special Berlin edition of the 36th São Paulo Biennial, titled "Not All Travellers Walk Roads—Of Humanity as Practice," will meet art lovers at Haus der Kulturen der Welt (HKW) in Berlin from September 12 to December 6, 2026.
The exhibition takes its name from Zifzafa, an ancient and resonant word used in Arabic poetry to describe a wind that shakes and rattles everything in its path. Defining himself as a "Private Ear" and investigating human rights violations through sound traces, Abu Hamdan zooms in on the practices of "green colonialism" and the devastating noise pollution that the 256-meter-high giant wind turbines planned in the occupied Golan Heights (Jawlan) will inflict on the local population. Presented under the guise of "green energy" but projected to be built as close as 35 meters to residential homes, the 70–90 dB sound mass generated by these turbines turns the area uninhabitable, effectively turning into an acoustic annexation.
The Legacy of Silence: Barbara Loftus and “Eine Enterbung”

The Berlin night is often not one of loneliness, but a state of wandering—a kind of ritual of turning inward. Every corner of the city carries the echo of sentences yet unspoken. Rasmus Eckhardt’s new exhibition NACHTSCHWÄRMEN at KÖNIG TELEGRAPHENAMT depicts precisely this rhythm of the night, its lightness, and the invisible weight it carries. Rasmus Eckhardt – NACHTSCHWÄRMEN KÖNIG TELEGRAPHENAMT, Monbijoustrasse 13 Until January 17, 2026
