Oasis has dropped another live recording from their reunion shows, this time featuring “Bring It On Down” from their performance on August 9th at Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh.
Right from the start, Liam Gallagher’s powerful voice rings out, “Still waiting for our apology! Bring it on down,” referencing a dispute with the Edinburgh council.
Leading up to the concert, the council had expressed concerns about the safety of Fringe performers, claiming it could be jeopardized by rowdy and intoxicated Oasis fans. During their first Edinburgh show, Liam voiced his frustration: “What about Edinburgh council, the fucking slags? The amount of money we’ll bring in, they’ll split with their posh, ugly mates.” He demanded an apology from the council for their statements, a sentiment audible in this latest recording.
The concert had significant expectations, as Oasis’s last performance at Murrayfield in 2009 was hailed as the most memorable event at the venue in the past two decades. That electric energy is palpable in the recording.
“Bring It On Down” originally appeared on their debut album, Definitely Maybe, released in 1994. The seventh track on the album was penned by Noel Gallagher and produced by Owen Morris.
Other live tracks from the reunion series have included “Slide Away” from their Cardiff show and “Little by Little” from a performance at Wembley Stadium.
Tragically, during the August 9th event, Alessandro Croce, a 30-year-old dentist from Teramo, Italy, who flew in to see the band, passed away in his hotel room just hours before the concert.
