Lucy Dacus has announced her plans to officiate weddings at her upcoming North American concerts. The singer-songwriter kicks off her “Forever Is A Feeling” tour—named after her latest album released in March—on July 25 at Philadelphia’s FDR Park.
Earlier this month, Dacus hinted at the idea of using her performances as wedding venues, posing a query on social media: “If I figure out a way to marry people at my shows, would anyone be interested? I know many people might be looking to secure those rights quickly for various reasons, or facing hurdles like budget and logistics—I’d be happy to do this for free.”
After receiving a positive response from fans, she provided an update on how the ceremonies will unfold. In a post, she noted, “I’m officiated in the U.S., though there may be a few cities on this tour where it’s not feasible. All the details are on my website, including how to obtain your marriage license by state. It should be straightforward—you’ll just need to bring your license to the box office, and we’ll ensure it gets returned by the end of the show.”
Dacus continued, “I can think of many reasons why people might want to secure the legal rights of marriage, so whether you’ve been planning this forever or you’re just starting to consider it, I’d be honored to perform the ceremony!”
