“Lost Watches”: An Absurdist Comedy-Drama Starring Jason Isaacs to Premiere at London’s Park Theatre

July 17, 20252 min read

What unfolds when grief takes form as talking sculptures and spectral encounters?

“Lost Watches” is a riveting, surreal new play featuring the talents of Jason Isaacs (known for “The White Lotus” and “Harry Potter”). Written by emerging playwright Lorenzo Allchurch (“Bollocks”) and directed by award-winning filmmaker and theatre director Alex Helfrecht (“The White King,” “A Winter’s Journey”), this darkly comedic exploration delves into memory, mental health, and the process of mourning.

The play will be staged in the intimate Park90 space at Park Theatre from July 30 to August 23.

In the wake of his mother’s passing and his father’s absence, young Allen finds himself with an unmanageable house and emotional turmoil he doesn’t know how to navigate. Just before his family home faces foreclosure, a series of unexpected visits leads him on a profound journey of discovery.

Over a hallucinatory weekend, Allen encounters ghosts and engages in conversation with the sculpted head of Beat Generation author William Burroughs, confronting the emotional debris of a past he can no longer ignore.

Blending rich theatrical language with sharp wit and deep emotional resonance, “Lost Watches” challenges audiences with questions such as:

  • Can the dead assist us in healing, or do they merely linger in the shadows?
  • What happens when we can no longer differentiate between memory and imagination?
  • How can we release people, places, and pain before they overtake us?

This genre-defying psychological absurdist drama is a tale of haunting memories and fractured identities, woven together with surreal humor and emotional depth. “Lost Watches” is a ghost story for anyone who has ever felt trapped in time.
