The Chinese animated series Lord of Mysteries debuted its first episodes on June 28, 2025. Set in a dark fantasy world reminiscent of the Victorian era, the story follows Zhou Mingrui, a modern-day man who awakens in the body of Klein Moretti. The anime brings a fresh take to the isekai genre with its intricate power systems, secret societies, and gothic atmosphere.
Produced by B.CMAY PICTURES, the studio behind the acclaimed The King’s Avatar, the anime benefits from the direct involvement of the novel’s author, Cuttlefish That Loves Diving, in the scriptwriting process. With its fast-paced storytelling and cinematic visuals, the series has garnered positive reactions from its initial episodes and is already being compared to Solo Leveling.

Featuring stunning 3D scenes, an original language called “Hermitspeak,” and intricate gothic city designs, Lord of Mysteries highlights the rising global influence of Chinese animation.
