Attention, nervous flyers: Channel 4’s latest suspenseful drama, In Flight, is almost here!
This six-part series follows Jo, a single mother and flight attendant who unexpectedly gets tangled in a dangerous web of corruption and hired assassins after being blackmailed into becoming a drug mule. As a flight attendant, Jo seems like the ideal candidate for smuggling, but she’s unwilling to comply. Her attempts to extricate herself from this perilous situation not only endanger her but also put her family at risk.
Set to premiere on August 12, the show is crafted by writer Mike Walden, known for his work on the detective series Marcella. With impressive credentials and a strong cast, it’s one you won’t want to miss. So, who can you expect to see in this gripping tale?
Jo Conran, played by Katherine Kelly
Jo is a flight attendant and a devoted single mother whose life spirals into chaos when her son becomes involved with a dangerous gang. Forced into becoming their drug mule, Jo fights to find a way out.
Katherine Kelly is no stranger to the screen. She gained fame as Becky McDonald on the soap Coronation Street, where she won the British Soap Award for Best Actress in 2009. Since then, she’s appeared in numerous TV series, including Mr. Selfridge, Happy Valley, and Gentleman Jack.
Cormac, played by Stuart Martin
Cormac is the menacing crime boss who blackmails Jo. While little is known about his background, it’s clear he’s a character to be wary of.
Scottish actor Stuart Martin, born in 1986, trained at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. His resume includes roles in Babylon, the American show Jamestown, and Miss Scarlet and The Duke.
Dom Delaney, played by Ashley Thomas
Dom is Jo’s ex-partner, a customs officer who becomes inadvertently re-involved in her tumultuous life.
Ashley Thomas, also known as Bashy, is a talented British actor and rapper. He rose to fame through the UK grime scene and has appeared in projects like Top Boy, The Interceptor, and the BBC adaptation of Great Expectations. He’s set to appear in an upcoming Netflix series called Hostage.
Sonny, played by Harry Cadby
Sonny is Jo’s son, who unwittingly gets caught up in Cormac’s criminal operations.
Harry Cadby is a rising star, having trained at LAMDA. He recently appeared in BBC’s Inside Man and the series Red Rose, and is set to join the cast of A Woman of Substance.
Kayla, played by Corinna Brown
Kayla, a character with an undisclosed background, is portrayed by Corinna Brown, who gained recognition for her role as Tara Jones in Netflix’s hit Heartstopper. Brown honed her skills from a young age, making her TV debut in My Murder alongside John Boyega.
Zara, played by Ambreen Razia
Zara is another flight attendant working alongside Jo. Ambreen Razia is not only an accomplished actor but also a writer. Born in South London, she has appeared in various acclaimed projects, including Black Mirror and Ted Lasso.
Melanie, played by Bronagh Waugh
Although little is revealed about Melanie, Bronagh Waugh is an established actress from Northern Ireland, previously known for her role on Hollyoaks. She has also appeared in The Fall and Unforgotten.
