Green Day has marked two years since the launch of their ‘Saviors’ era by dropping a new music video for ‘Suzie Chapstick’—check it out below.
Back in October 2023, the band announced their 14th studio album, which debuted in January with the lead single ‘The American Dream Is Killing Me.’ The album received a Grammy nomination for Best Rock Album and triggered an extensive 87-date world tour.
This week, they reflected on the two-year journey of the ‘Saviors’ campaign with an Instagram post reading, “It’s hard to believe it’s been two years since we kicked off the ‘Saviors’ run. What a trip!!”
The group describes the ‘Suzie Chapstick’ video as “a look back at all the chaos (and everything in between).” It features footage from studio sessions, early music video shoots, behind-the-scenes rehearsals, and highlights from their extensive tour. Watch it here:
Additionally, the band recently shared a trailer for their upcoming road trip comedy film, New Years Rev. Inspired by their early touring experiences, the film follows three friends who mistakenly believe they’ve secured a support slot for a Green Day New Year’s Eve show. It premiered in Toronto on September 12.
In other news, Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong recently teamed up with Dua Lipa for a live cover of ‘Wake Me Up When September Ends’ in San Francisco, while the band continues to address political issues during their performances.
Meanwhile, American Idiot has been recognized as the most successful rock album of the 21st century by the UK’s Official Charts Company, surpassing works by Linkin Park, The Darkness, and Muse.
