Blending Anatolian melodies with disco, psychedelia, and jazz, Telli Davul is set to take the stage at the Montreux Jazz Festival on July 5, 2025. Named after the nickname once given to the bass guitar in old Istanbul orchestras, the band combines bowed tanbur, çağlama, melodic bass lines, and improvisation to create a distinctive sound that’s steadily gaining recognition on international stages.
Composed of Muaz Ceyhan, Maya Muz, Danae Palaka, and Özer Ateş, the group has been performing at various concerts across Turkey and abroad this year. Appearing on The Memphis Stage at Montreux, Telli Davul is preparing to share the rich, multi-layered cultural heritage of Anatolia with a global audience.
