Frank Ocean’s ‘Channel Orange’ Finally Released on Vinyl

June 27, 20252 min read

Frank Ocean has officially released his celebrated debut album, ‘Channel Orange,’ on vinyl.

Originally launched in 2012 in digital and CD formats, this album features hit tracks like ‘Super Rich Kids,’ ‘Pyramids,’ and ‘Bad Religion.’ It quickly became a favorite among critics and was named Best Album in numerous polls that year, making it one of the most coveted vinyl records of its time.

In a 2019 interview with notable figures such as Rosalia, John Waters, and Nile Rodgers, Ocean was asked when fans could expect a vinyl release of the Grammy-winning album. His simple response? “ASAP.” Unfortunately, for years, fans had to settle for unofficial bootleg versions—until now, 13 years later.

You can find the newly released 2xLP edition of ‘Channel Orange’ on Ocean’s Blonded store. This gatefold vinyl features alternative cover art and retails for $69 (shipping not included). Please allow 4-6 weeks for delivery, but keep in mind that this version does not include the track ‘White,’ featuring John Mayer.

Since Ocean’s last full album, ‘Blonde,’ was released in 2016, he has offered just a few singles, including ‘DHL’ and ‘In My Room.’ Last July, he also celebrated the 10th anniversary of ‘Channel Orange’ by sharing unreleased music during his radio show and later dropped ‘Falling’ and ‘Dear April’ on streaming platforms—these tracks were previously vinyl exclusives.

In 2023, Ocean teased fans with a snippet of new music on his Instagram Stories. This came after his return to the stage at Coachella 2023, where he headlined the first weekend but had to cancel his second appearance due to injury, leading to a replacement by Skrillex, Fred Again, and Four Tet.

Recently, it’s come to light that Ocean is making his directorial debut with a project starring David Jonsson, known for his work on Industry. Filming is already underway in Mexico City, though details about the film remain under wraps.

Fans are buzzing about a possible music comeback from Ocean, especially after discovering a private Instagram account believed to belong to the artist. The excitement continues to build as we wait to see what he has in store next.
