Fotografiska Berlin hosts the exhibition “ToiletFotoPaperGrafiska,” showcasing the provocative work of the artistic duo Maurizio Cattelan and Pierpaolo Ferrari, founders of TOILETPAPER.
Launched in 2010, TOILETPAPER Magazine was Cattelan and Ferrari’s bold response to the traditional art world. Known for their provocative visuals that blend playful designs with dark satire, a key aspect of their creative process involves meticulously crafting set designs by hand in their Milan studio. By avoiding digital or AI manipulation, their work gains a unique texture and authenticity.
The exhibition goes beyond a visual spectacle, offering a three-dimensional, immersive experience that unsettles, questions, and provokes. Filled with surprising elements like a pool of fake bananas, the exhibit encourages visitors to uncover “hidden Easter eggs” and “invisible connections,” finding their own meaning within the art.
