Everything We Discovered from the Stranger Things Season 5 Trailer

July 22, 20253 min read

After over two years away from our screens, Stranger Things is set to make its return for the highly anticipated fifth and final season.

Until now, details about the upcoming season have been largely secretive, with only a few ambiguous teaser trailers to hint at what’s ahead. However, the new trailer provides an exciting first glimpse into the world of Hawkins, Indiana, and it looks like the Duffer Brothers are going out with an unforgettable finale.

Here’s what we’ve gathered from the trailer:

The Original Cast is Back

The trailer feels like a reunion of all our favorite characters. We see Millie Bobby Brown reprising her role as Eleven, joined by Winona Ryder as Joyce Byers, David Harbour as Jim Hopper (thankfully back from his Russian ordeal), Joe Keery as Steve, and Maya Hawke as Robin. All the boys—Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, and Noah Schnapp—are back too. And yes, Lucas’s sister, Erica (Priah Ferguson), returns as well.

A brief look at Sadie Sink’s character, Max, shows her in a hospital bed with Caleb gripping her hand—definitely a worrying sign. Given her traumatic injuries inflicted by Vecna at the end of season four, her storyline might take a turn for the darker.

Vecna is Back to Cause Chaos

Jamie Campbell Bower, who plays the chilling Vecna, is featured prominently in the trailer. His ominous line, “found you,” hints that he’s been on a quest to find Eleven since their intense showdown last season. This adds a layer of tension as the gang prepares for another confrontation.

Season four concluded with Vecna creating a rift to the Upside Down right in Hawkins. The trailer opens with Steve working at what appears to be a radio station, cranking up a signal, indicating that the group is gearing up to face this new threat head-on.

In addition, we see U.S. Army troops in town, and Eleven, donned with a bandana, getting ready for another sensory deprivation experience. “Wherever this blood leads, I need you to fight one last time,” Hopper urges her. “Let’s end this, kid.” We also catch glimpses of Hawkins residents sheltering in bunkers, a smart move considering the presence of Demogorgons lurking around.

Mark Your Calendars

Unfortunately, we still have some waiting to do. The first four episodes are set to premiere on November 27, followed by the next three on Boxing Day, with the finale scheduled for New Year’s Day. All episodes will be available at 1 AM GMT, so don’t forget to set those alarms!

Stranger Things Season 5 will be available for streaming on Netflix starting November 27.
