Berlin and Colorado-based The Love Makers Company, led by founders Makisig Akin and Anya Cloud, is set to shake up the art world with their new choreography, how we are surviving ourselves: Post-Failure Potentials. The performance will premiere at DOCK ART in Autumn 2025. This work serves as both a call to action against the cultural, social, and political failures of our time and a hymn dedicated to queer love.
The Power of Togetherness and Artistic Creation
Offering a glimpse into the creative process of this latest choreography, the event explores the question, “What can we achieve together that is impossible alone?” Following the performance, audiences will have the opportunity to engage with the artistic team and discuss the deeper inquiries behind the work. Joining founders Akin and Cloud in the performance are artists Sointu Pere, Sky Su, Yusa Jacobo, Julika Schlegel, and Paris Cullen.
Founded in 2023, The Love Makers Company builds its work on queer love and radical vitality. Treating bodies as political surfaces of reflection, the company confronts the legacies of past generations and champions unconditional collaboration. Currently touring internationally with their piece We Are (nothing) Everything, the company is poised to make waves with this new work as well.
