Ariana Grande has reassured her fans that she has no plans to abandon her music career in favor of acting.
In recent years, Grande has shifted her focus towards film projects, including last year’s successful adaptation of Wicked and its upcoming sequel, Wicked: For Good. Just yesterday (July 16), it was announced that she will take on a lead role voicing a character in Warner Bros.’ animated version of Dr. Seuss’ Oh, The Places You’ll Go.
With this news and her limited musical releases, some fans worried she might be drifting away from music. Addressing the speculation in an Instagram post, Grande said, “It’s silly to assume that just because I’ve been busy with other projects, I plan to leave singing behind.” She emphasized that music has always been her passion, stating, “Music is my lifeline. There will always be room for both.”
Grande also hinted that her return to music may not look exactly like before, but she’s excited about the future. “I’m finding joy in everything I’m doing. I feel grateful and inspired.” She concluded her message by teasing a potential short tour next year after wrapping up promotions for Wicked: For Life, stating she’s working on a plan to perform again, even if it’s just for a little while.
Her last musical release was her album Eternal Sunshine in March 2024, which included a deluxe version with six new tracks. While her last full tour ended in 2019, she has made a few live appearances since then.
