A New Season for Art in the Park: Frieze Sculpture 2026 Applications Now Open

The heart of the art world is already turning toward the unique colours of autumn and the iconic Regent’s Park in London. Frieze Sculpture, the annual event that pushes the boundaries of outdoor art and brings fresh air to the city, has officially opened gallery applications for its 2026 edition.

Now in its 14th year, the event is not merely a sculpture exhibition; it aims to become a living organism where nature, architecture, and social fabric intertwine.

“A Hybrid Ecology” Curated by Fatoş Üstek

This year’s exhibition is curated by one of the most visionary figures in the contemporary art world, Fatoş Üstek. For the 2026 edition, Üstek approaches sculpture as “permeable and relational ecology.” But what does this mean?

According to Üstek’s vision, the works will be conceived as structures nourished by social, spatial, and environmental contexts, engaging with ideas of hybridisation between the natural and the urban. These installations will bridge the historic English Gardens of Regent’s Park with the metropolitan spirit of London, initiating an innovative dialogue across materials.

“Sculpture is not merely an object; it is a system that breathes with its surroundings.”

A Search Beyond the Traditional

Frieze Sculpture 2026 is looking for ambitious projects that stretch conventional definitions of sculpture, intersect with other mediums, and push the limits of material use. The deadline for gallery submissions is 13 February 2026 at 17:00 (GMT).

Galleries wishing to participate in this prestigious event—which brings together giants of the art world and emerging talents on the same lawn—can submit their applications through the portal on frieze.com.
