After 27 years at the Theatre Royal Haymarket, Masterclass Theatre Trust is embarking on an exciting new journey. This September 2025, the theatre education charity will relocate to Seven Dials Playhouse, unveiling a new name and visual identity in the process.
Now known as the Masterclass Theatre Trust, the organization will debut a refreshed logo that replaces the Theatre Royal Haymarket crown with “Est. 1998,” celebrating its rich history while embracing the future. This relocation is set to enhance flexibility and create new opportunities to engage with emerging theatre artists, all while maintaining a presence in London’s West End.
Since its inception in 1998, Masterclass has offered year-round, free training for young theatre professionals through various programs, including masterclasses, creative workshops, and career development initiatives. Additionally, they serve as the lead producer of TheatreCraft, the UK’s largest free careers event focusing on off-stage roles for young individuals. At their new location, Masterclass plans to continue collaborating with prominent London venues like LW Theatres, Park Theatre, and The Other Palace to further enrich its core offerings.
Clare Annamalai, Programme Director, expressed her gratitude to the Theatre Royal Haymarket while looking ahead to the future. “Seven Dials Playhouse presents us with a vibrant venue to keep empowering the next generation of theatre makers,” she shared. “Masterclass has always championed an inclusive community, and now we have a dedicated home at Seven Dials Playhouse, whose mission resonates with ours.”
Amanda Davey, Chief Executive of Seven Dials Playhouse, echoed her enthusiasm, stating, “Their exceptional efforts in training and nurturing emerging talent are well recognized, and we are thrilled to welcome them for this new chapter.” This move represents a significant milestone for both organizations as they continue their shared commitment to supporting and developing new talent in the arts.
