Last night (August 10), The Smashing Pumpkins took the stage for an unforgettable headline performance at Gunnersbury Park in London. Check out the footage and the complete setlist below.
Frontman Billy Corgan and the band returned to the UK capital for their summer concert series in West London, following a spectacular show by The Libertines the previous evening. They were joined by support acts including Skunk Anansie, White Lies, Unpeople, and Rocket.
The concert opened with a powerful sequence featuring ‘Glass’ Theme’, ‘Heavy Metal Machine’, and ‘Pentagrams’. They then launched into ‘Today’, a classic from their acclaimed 1993 album ‘Siamese Dream’. Fans were treated to four tracks from ‘Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness’: ‘Bullet With Butterfly Wings’, ‘Muzzle’, ‘1979’, and ‘Porcelina of the Vast Oceans’. This performance coincides with the 30th anniversary of the latter album, which debuted in October 1995 and marked a significant milestone in their discography. Other hits from that era included ‘Tonight, Tonight’, ‘Jellybelly’, and ‘Zero’.
The Smashing Pumpkins also showcased fan-favorite ballads like ‘Disarm’, along with tracks such as ‘Mayonaise’ and ‘Ava Adore’. Newer material from their latest album, Aghori mhori mei, included songs like ‘Sighommi’ and ‘Edin’.
Staying true to their tradition, the band performed a cover of Berlin’s classic ‘Take My Breath Away’ mid-set and gave a nod to Black Sabbath with ‘N.I.B’. During the show, Corgan playful hinted at covering an Oasis song to celebrate their recent comeback, joking, “I love Oasis… should we play ‘Champagne Supernova’?”
