Joe Perry Reveals Aerosmith is Considering a Reunion Concert

July 14, 20252 min read

Joe Perry has shared exciting news that Aerosmith is “discussing” the potential of reuniting for one last concert together.

The rock icons previously announced their sudden retirement from touring in August after frontman Steven Tyler experienced a significant vocal cord injury. Their last live performance took place during the ‘Peace Out’ tour, which launched in 2023 but only included three shows.

Tyler made a much-anticipated return to the stage earlier this year for a charity event, where he performed several Aerosmith classics, including ‘Walk This Way,’ ‘Dream On,’ and ‘Sweet Emotion.’ This was followed by another charity event in April, marking the first time Tyler and Perry shared the stage in two years.

In a recent interview with Sirius XM’s Trunk Nation, Perry hinted that a full Aerosmith concert could be on the horizon.

“We’re talking about it,” he revealed. “Aside from anything scheduled, we’re all alive and well, so we’ll see. I believe there’s got to be at least one more Aerosmith gig, and I’m not looking forward to putting that set list together, but we’ll see.”

When asked if Tyler is capable of performing a complete show, Perry responded, “I think he would. It’s just a matter of getting there.”

Tyler also appeared at the Black Sabbath ‘Back To The Beginning’ farewell show, where he performed alongside notable artists, playing hits like ‘Train Kept A Rollin’, ‘Walk This Way’, and ‘Whole Lotta Love.’

After the announcement of Aerosmith’s retirement from touring, many fans and celebrities expressed their sorrow. Queen’s Brian May mentioned that the news “brought a tear” to his eye, while Sammy Hagar lamented the retirement as “a great loss.” Fans can now watch the band’s final performance on YouTube in stunning 4K quality.

Guns N’ Roses drummer Matt Sorum, a close friend of Tyler, expressed doubt that the singer would tour again, citing the pressure that accompanies full-scale tours. “At 77 years old, Steven is a perfectionist. If he isn’t singing correctly, it really bothers him,” Sorum said.
