Brad Pitt has expressed his willingness to collaborate with Tom Cruise again, but with a humorous caveat—no plane stunts involved.
During an interview with E! News ahead of the premiere of his new film F1 in Mexico, Pitt mentioned that he’d be open to teaming up with the Mission: Impossible star again, provided it doesn’t involve being launched into the air. He quipped, “I’m not going to hang off airplanes or anything like that. So when he does something that stays on the ground, then yes.”
While Pitt and Cruise’s last major project together was the 1994 film Interview with the Vampire, the two actors share more industry connections today. Pitt’s latest film F1 is directed by Joseph Kosinski and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, both of whom were also key players behind Cruise’s successful Top Gun: Maverick in 2022.
In a past interview, Kosinski revealed that he had initially hoped to bring Pitt and Cruise together for Ford v Ferrari in 2019. However, budget constraints prevented that from happening, resulting in Matt Damon and Christian Bale taking on the lead roles instead. When asked what Cruise could have contributed to F1, Kosinski noted, “Tom always pushes it to the limit and is extremely skilled.” He added that both actors possess a natural talent for driving, but he could see Cruise “maybe scaring us a little bit more.”
F1 is set to be released internationally on June 25th and in the U.S. and Canada on June 27th.
