Wes Anderson’s Film “The Phoenician Scheme”: A Father-Daughter Conflict with a Star-Studded Cast

The first trailer for Wes Anderson’s new feature film, The Phoenician Scheme, starring Benicio del Toro and Mia Threapleton, has been released. Centering on a complex father-daughter relationship, the film features del Toro as Zsa-zsa Korda, one of Europe’s wealthiest businessmen, and Threapleton as his daughter, Sister Liesl, a nun.

 

Michael Cera plays Liesl’s tutor, Bjorn Lund, in a star-studded cast that also includes Tom Hanks, Bryan Cranston, Jeffrey Wright, Riz Ahmed, Scarlett Johansson, Richard Ayoade, Mathieu Amalric, Rupert Friend, Hope Davis, and Benedict Cumberbatch. Filmed in Germany and co-written with Roman Coppola, the movie features a score by Alexandre Desplat.
