Taunus Art Triennial 3

As winter’s cool breath is felt on the Taunus hills, a unifying, soul-warming story is taking root at the heart of Hofheim am Taunus. Stadtmuseum Hofheim has opened its doors to a captivating encounter—“Über Brücken” (Across Bridges) – Taunus Art Triennial 3—which continues until 8 February 2026. This exhibition is more than a regional art celebration; it is a romantic exploration of the invisible yet unbreakable bonds that connect human to human, culture to culture, and past to future. In this historic venue at Burgstraße 11, the unifying power of art transforms winter melancholy into aesthetic hope, becoming a bridge of its own.

The central theme of “Bridges” is treated not merely as architectural structures, but as symbols of empathy, understanding, and social solidarity. Professional artists from the Main-Taunus, Hochtaunus, and Rheingau-Taunus regions are building new pathways—through the gentle touch of art—in place of walls torn down by ideology, religion, and nationality. Believing that where bridges collapse, trust and memory are lost, this selection invites viewers, with every work, to look across to the other side: to the perspective of the “other.” Here, art steps forward as a savior, beginning the melody of dialogue in the midst of silence.

One of the most striking works in the exhibition is Verónica Aguilera Carrasco’s installation “Cabriole Legs” (2024). Combining ceramics and bandages, this piece represents the delicate line between fragility and healing. The hard yet brittle nature of ceramic wrapped in bandages—symbols of care—romantically conveys how fragile our human connections are and how constantly they require tending. The artists blend traditional techniques with contemporary concepts, turning the exhibition space into an emotional laboratory.

Among the powerful voices accompanying this artistic journey are: Doris Bardong, Heidi Bereiter-Hahn, Doris Brunner, Sabine Dächert, Annette Euler, Kerstin Hebauf, Barbara Heier-Rainer, Ingrid Honneth, Ines A. Hudak, Gunda Lindner, Marion Michel, Edith Monschauer, Claudia Pense, Wanda Pratschke, Bianca Scheich, Annika Schulte, Clara Schuster, Seunghee Shin, Andrea Simon, Regina Streitenfeld, Doris Tofall, Harald Weber, Kai Wolf, and Thomas Wunsch. Each artist constructs their own bridge through a distinct technique, offering an interdisciplinary feast of painting, sculpture, installation, and photography.

The exhibition experience deepens not only through viewing but through active immersion in the flow of art. On the evening of 5 February 2026 at 19:00, artist Seunghee Shin will lead the workshop “Across the Bridge – Let Silence Flow,” inviting participants into an experience where the symbolic boundaries of color are transcended. In this workshop, perfectionism gives way to the free flow of emotion, and the mingling of paints becomes a metaphor for life’s transitions and the bonds we forge. The 3rd Taunus Art Triennial reminds us in the winter of 2026: Where there is art, there is always a way to reach the opposite shore.
